The aim of the Soc-um organisatisation is the safeguarding of children in all
different areas and includes my pet hate which is the stalking
of innocent children over a medium such as the internet. The prevention
of such a crime is very well documented on the site and it is
something that all parents need to familiarise themselves with
and make sure that their children are kept safe while surfing
the internet. There are some very clever people out there who
want to lure children away from cyber world into the real world
and we all know that the real world isn't always the best world!

Based on the Amber Alert in the US the Child Rescue
Alert is aimed at tracing children under 16 who go missing or who are abducted
in the UK. The idea is to interrupt t.v. and radio broadcasts with news flashes
and asks the public to keep alert. This scheme has been launched by Sussex Police
in the UK.
